REVIEW of the music video by our target audience :)

Once the music video was completed, we showed 3 members of our target audience to watch our video, keeping note as to what they saw. At the end, we asked all of them a couple of questions as to the aspects of the video and what they liked/didn't like about it. Their answers were as follows:

Person no.1

Question 1)        What did you think of the video? Liked, disliked. Aspects that you thought were interesting etc.

Answer                The video looked professional. Good editing, lighting and the cinematography was also good.

Question 2)        What did you MAINLY like? Aka what was your favourite aspect of the video?

Answer                                The clips of the band

Question 3)        What did you MAINLY not like? Aka what was the worst aspect of the video?

Answer                                the ending dragged a bit.

Question 4)        Was the music video itself understandable? Were you confused and/or did you understand what was going on?

Answer                yes

Question 5)        Did you understand that this video (in some way) was promoting a media/TV programme? If so, how?

Answer                Yes, but it would have been more understandable with more characters

Question 6)        Did you think this was a rock video? And if so, why?

Answer                yes, because of the performance and presentation of the band and the instruments.

Question 7)        Did you like the “story” of the music video?

Answer                yes, it was easy to follow and it also made you think.

Question 8)        Did you like the “band” and the way they acted/presented themselves in the music video?

Answer                yes, it was good and funny

Question 9)        Any other points you would suggest improvement on? And/or anything else that wasn’t appealing to you in the video?

Answer                The repetitive falling went on for too long

Question 1)        What did you think of the video? Liked, disliked. Aspects that you thought were interesting etc.

Answer                Quite well timed. The jump cuts and repeated shots. A little too prevalent but overall good video.

Question 2)        What did you MAINLY like? Aka what was your favourite aspect of the video?

Answer                                performance and audio.

Question 3)        What did you MAINLY not like? Aka what was the worst aspect of the video?

Answer                                repeated shots.

Question 4)        Was the music video itself understandable? Were you confused and/or did you understand what was going on?

Answer                yes.

Question 5)        Did you understand that this video (in some way) was promoting a media/TV programme? If so, how?

Answer                General music video. Wouldn’t know it as a promotion without seeing the tv programme.

Question 6)        Did you think this was a rock video? And if so, why?

Answer                yes, there was rock.

Question 7)        Did you like the “story” of the music video?

Answer                Quick and simple, good stuff.

Question 8)        Did you like the “band” and the way they acted/presented themselves in the music video?

Answer                Timing was a little out, but overall good.

Question 9)        Any other points you would suggest improvement on? And/or anything else that wasn’t appealing to you in the video?

Answer                the constant video quality change.

Person no.3

Question 1)        What did you think of the video? Liked, disliked. Aspects that you thought were

interesting etc.

Answer                clever narrative. Good performance, shots, effective lighting. Camera

effects.

Question 2)        What did you MAINLY like? Aka what was your favourite aspect of the video?

Answer                                good narrative. Unexpected twist at end.

Question 3)        What did you MAINLY not like? Aka what was the worst aspect of the video?

Answer                                some continuity, lighting.

Question 4)        Was the music video itself understandable? Were you confused and/or did you

understand what was going on?

Answer                yes.

Question 5)        Did you understand that this video (in some way) was promoting a media/TV

programme? If so, how?

Answer                understandable to a degree, narrative could have been clearer and more

related to TV show.

Answer                yes, performance shots.

Answer                yes, good twist, understandable, quite effective.

Question 8)        Did you like the “band” and the way they acted/presented themselves in the music

video?

Answer                yes, believable, looked into it (performing), good interactions between them.

Answer                more interactions between band members.
